Fire up the kids' imagination and get some garden inspiration at Haddo this weekend.
A new event starting at Haddo this Sunday- our super Sunday Playtime for kids. We're currently filling the office with piles of logs, planks, den-building branches, blankets, hoops, skittles and blocks. You can use as much as you like and whatever you like to make, well anything you can think of. Build a tower, set up an obstacle course for your friends, make up your own games with your own rules!
We'll be at the Pheasantry from 10.30am-12.30pm, entry to the play area is £2 per child, adults free (children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times).
All year our amazing volunteer team have been working really hard to restore and rediscover the lovely little Garden by the Carpenter's Cottage. They've cleared masses of undergrowth, found whole network of paths and flower beds and restored and relined the mini-pond. It's gone from an overgrown mess full of nettles and dogwood to a pretty space full of herbs, flowers and painted furniture.
This Saturday the volunteers will be holding an open day and fundraising session to help carry on their work. There'll be kid's crafts, lots of tasty treats provided by the NTS tearoom and the chance to look around the garden itself (usually locked) and see what we've been doing.
The garden will be open from 11am-3pm and entry is absolutely free.
Don't forget it's your last chance to enter the Visions- Haddo Photography Competition this weekend. Because of some minor tech issues in the office we can ONLY take in person entries on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 1pm- either phone ahead and let us know you're coming in or pop down and find us at the Pheasnatry/Carpenters Cottage if the office is closed.
We can take online entries until 8pm on Sunday 28th August. I'm on holiday after Monday so won't be able to take any late entries at all.
There are loads of great prizes including dinner for four at Meldrum House Hotel, photography workshops with Cain Scrimgeour and Haddo Arts Festival tickets so don't miss out...
